H2 (Novice Pilot) Training Program

750.00

The RAF Hang Gliding Training Program was designed as a hands on experience for people to get into hang gliding. We start with a 3 hour Ground School Class which introduces the sport and provides the theoretical background to become a hang glider pilot. The classes at the training hill start at the end of April and end at the end of June (generally due to the crops in our landing field getting too high). A certified instructor teaches hang gliding every flyable evening weekday from 6PM to sun down and Saturdays form 9AM to noon. The course includes the use of the training glider, a helmet, as well as a training book, CD, and flight log booklet. We recommend to all the students to commit to at least 90% of the classes to make enough progress towards flying from a high site in the Finger Lakes area, typically our Bristol/Stid Hill site. Any high site flights will need to be done with your own equipment.
