Introductory Hang Gliding Lesson

COST - $50 Dues for a 30-day Temporary membership in the Rochester Area Flyers (RAF). Pay on the day of the lesson (cash or check). We will have membership/registration forms for you to complete.
* You will need to buy a Temporary 10-Day Membership ($6) with our Association (USHPA) in order to participate. We will have application forms at registration.
Are you interested in learning how to Hang Glide? The best way to learn is to attend our Check it Out program which runs annually in April. This program takes place at our training hill in Farmington NY.
At Check it Out students will learn about the sport of hang gliding including safety, evaluating weather conditions and how to assemble a glider. Students will learn how to handle a glider on the ground and begin to practice the techniques used to foot launch a glider. As they run with the glider, they will feel the glider lift up off their shoulders and some students may experience their first taste of free flight as their feet begin to lift a few inches off the ground.
